Muscat, Oman, 12 May 2015--Top international energy and water solutions providers Saudi-based ACWA Power and Finnish company Wartsila are taking part in the first Oman Energy and Water Exhibition & Conference as gold sponsors and as exhibitors, organized by exhibitions and conferences organizer Omanexpo in cooperation with the Public Authority for Electricity & Water (PAEW), the regulatory and administrative body of Oman's utility sector, which will take place from May 19 to 21 at the Oman International Exhibition Center.

Their participation in the pioneer utilities event in Oman is aligned with their initiatives to boost their presence in the Middle East region, increase knowledge and technical base of the country's workforce, and to provide transmission and distribution support services to Oman's national grid.  

ACWA Power is a developer, investor, co-owner and operator of power generation and desalinated water production plants of contracted capacity of 14,800 MW of electricity and 2.37 million m3/day of desalinated water. It has its headquarters in Saudi Arabia, operating throughout the GCC region, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Morocco and Africa.

In November 2014, the company was awarded the 12.5 MIGD Barka Water Expansion Project by Oman Power and Water Procurement (OPWP), the single buyer of power and water for all IPP and IWPP projects within the Sultanate.
