- Award winning restaurant chain opens its doors at Sahara Centre

- Marka expands Middle Eastern franchise beyond Dubai

Dubai - Marka PJSC (DFM: MARKA), the first public joint stock retail operator focused on the UAE's growing retail and hospitality sectors, has opened the first Reem Al Bawadi outlet in Sharjah. Located in the premium extension of Sahara Centre, the location is the first Reem Al Bawadi outlet to be customized for a mall environment. The newest addition to the award-winning restaurant chain features a 5,500 sq. ft. dining area and a 500 sq. ft. outdoor terrace offering the signature ambiance and service of the well loved brand.

Established in 2001 by Mr. Ayman Al Jaber, Reem Al Bawadi quickly established a strong reputation and a loyal clientele by offering an expansive menu of authentic and affordable Middle Eastern cuisine served in a warm and homely ambience. Mr. Jaber's commitment to providing the very best dining experience led the brand to receive numerous plaudits and acclaim, including the title 'Best Middle Eastern Restaurant' at both the prestigious BBC Good Food ME Awards 2014 and the influential What's On Awards 2014.

The popular restaurant brand was acquired by Marka in May of this year, and the company revealed a robustexpansion that will see up to five new franchised Reem Al Bawadi outlets opening in the wider Middle East and North Africa region.The company says that its expansion of Reem Al Bawadi representsits long-term growth strategy, which entails building a portfolio of leading brands under the wing of its dedicated food and beverage division, Marka Hospitality.

The opening of the new establishment in Sharjah extends the franchise to nine outlets across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, with the first Reem Al Bawadi restaurants in Al Ain and Ras al Khaimah also set to open before the end of 2015.
