RATP President and Chief Executive Elisabeth Borne will travel to Riyadh as part of the delegation led by French Prime Minister Manuel Valls to take part in the second Franco-Saudi business forum on 12 and 13 October in the Saudi capital.

Round table sessions during the business forum held jointly by Business France and MEDEF International in partnership with the Saudi Council of Chambers will enable French and local groups to discuss investments and industrial partnerships.

Elisabeth Borne will talk about sustainable cities and the energy transition in transport. Ms Borne's attendance will also afford an opportunity for the RATP president and chief executive to meet Hathloul Al Hathloul, the Saudi deputy minister of transport and AbdulAziz Al Ohaly, president of PTA, the transport authority for the entire kingdom, along with Faisal ben Bandar Al Saud, president of ADA, the transport authority in Riyadh. Elisabeth Borne will also visit the Riyadh metro construction site of which RATP Dev is one of potential operators (six lines and 180 km) alongside its local partner Saptco.

RATP Dev and its partner Saptco have already been awarded the ten-year contract to implement, operate and maintain the Riyadh bus network, which will ultimately feature a hundred lines and a fleet of a thousand vehicles. The network will transport some 120 million passengers per year by 2020 and is one of the most ambitious projects to be developed in the world. The contract is worth 1.675 billion euros and is the largest project to have been won by RATP Dev yet.
