01 November 2015
Dubai, UAE - Meysan Partners, a leading Middle Eastern corporate law firm, has been awarded 'Rising Star Law Firm of the Year 2015' at this year's International Financial Law Review (IFLR) Middle East Awards. At a glittering ceremony held in Dubai's prestigious Burj al Arab this week, the firm was recognized for the significant strides it has taken since launching just nine months prior in January of this year.

IFLR is the industry leader for rewarding legal innovation and having run its awards for 13 years. Each year, it hosts ceremonies in Dubai, London, New York and Hong Kong in recognition of the best work in both private practice and in-house departments.

Meysan Partners was established in January 2015, with its inaugural office located at Al Hamra Tower in Kuwait City. Its client list to date already includes some of the largest regional blue-chip companies and family groups, multinational corporations, international financial institutions, sovereign governments and their agencies, domestic corporations and financial institutions, as well as high net worth individuals.

Established by its Senior Partners, Abdul Aziz A. Al-Yaqout (formerly, Regional Managing Partner, DLA Piper) and Bader A. El-Jeaan (formerly, General Counsel for The Carlyle Group), the firm, which is now comprised of 11 lawyers, specializes in Bank Finance & Restructuring, Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions, Project Development & Finance, and Dispute Resolution.

Commenting on the Award, Senior Partner, Bader El-Jeaan said: "We are more than delighted to receive the Rising Star Law Firm Award this year, particularly so quickly after launching. It is testament to our vision and commitment to offering the best legal services in the market. We have, since the beginnings, taken a boutique approach to our practice, limiting the number and type of matters we undertake in order to ensure the highest quality offering for our clients."

Abdul Aziz Al-Yaqout, Senior Partner, added:  "It is a real honour to accept the award for Rising Star Law Firm of the Year, an achievement that the entire Meysan team is extremely proud of.  It is also very fitting in that "Meysan" is the Arabic name of a star and the reason we chose it as the name of our firm. We are looking forward to continuing our focus on high-value, high quality work delivered by a team of true experts, as well as growing our number of offices across the Middle East region in the coming years."
