Manama: Mohammed Hassan Al Mahroos, the leading provider of tools and equipment to construction, industrial, air-conditioning and specialised engineering projects in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the GCC, has recently announced the completion of its works at the Dilmunia Canal project.

These works included seawater pumping into the Canal, and the installation and operation of several other water features, such as the seawater-operated musical fountains, waterfalls, lighting and sound systems.

M.H. Al Mahroos had previously signed a contract to provide pumps, which were supplied by Flygt, the leading Sweden-based submersible pumps' manufacturer, to pump seawater into Dilmunia Canal.

The Company has also been awarded the contract for the design and supply of illuminated musical fountains, which are installed in the canal with a control room for remote operation. M.H. Al Mahroos imported the fountains through the German-based company OASE Living Water, one of the world's leading manufacturers of fountain technology.

The signing of both contracts with M.H. Al Mahroos reflected the longstanding confidence it has in the market as a representative of key international water technology manufacturers, and the high competence of the Company's engineering team.

Additionally, M.H. Al Mahroos signed an agreement with Wikkid Productions, a Bahraini company that specializes in entertainment and artistic production, in order to acquire and license the use of international music content in the canal and fountains, adding to the aesthetic and audio-visual glow at the site.

The Company takes pride of this key achievement, as Dilmunia Canal is considered the longest water channel on the island, varying in width from 15 metres to 35 metres, and stretching to 1.7 kilometres in length. With its musical fountains, and its light and sound effects, the Dilmunia Canal offers breath-taking landscapes filled with joy, fun, beauty, luxury and upscale entertainment.

The fountains at the canal are operated through a state-of-the-art technology, which is developed by OASE Living Water, and depends on the decentralisation of pumping the water through a group of waterjets with different and distinct water flow nozzles, while it is integrated with LED water lighting system and linked to a sound system in harmony with the movement of the water.

The entire operation system is controlled by a central computer programme that is installed in the control room, which is used to manage the canal. This system achieves several important advantages, such as significant savings in operational electrical energy, ensuring the safety of the canal's visitors, protecting the environment by utilising seawater and equipment made to suit the high salinity marine environment, in addition to the dazzling shows and choreographies.

On the occasion of opening Dilmunia Canal, Mr. Talal Al Mahroos, Manager in Executive Management at M.H. Al Mahroos, said: "We are delighted with this achievement of providing the seawater pumps in the canal and the installation of fountains, lighting and sound systems in record time and with high professionalism. This has been accomplished thanks to our qualified engineers and the technical support we received from the manufacturers, as well as the cooperation of the main contractor of the Dilmunia Canal project and the support of the project owner. We will be partners in the continued success of the project by operating and maintaining the fountains and audio-visual systems."

Mr. Al Mahroos added: "Our company has been keen on applying the best professional work practices and adhering to the highest international safety standards at the various work sites in the canal. We pride ourselves on constantly demonstrating and presenting the finest accumulated experience that our engineering team has in implementing large projects in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Our addition to the unique Dilmunia Canal project would surely contribute to attracting visitors and tourists to Dilmunia and Bahrain."

For his part, Mr. Ali Esbai, CEO and Filmmaker at Wikkid Productions, expressed pleasure to ink this strategic partnership with M.H. Al Mahroos to present distinctive music content for the canal and fountains on Dilmunia island.

Mr. Esbai noted that this partnership would make Dilmunia a major tourist destination in the Kingdom, considering its uniqueness from the rest of the development projects on the island, being launched for the first time with this level of aesthetic, while harnessing the latest audio-visual technologies in the project.

It is worth mentioning that M.H. Al Mahroos has been established in 1930, becoming the first choice in the Kingdom of Bahrain and GCC countries in providing the most prestigious international brands in the field of tools and equipment.

For over 90 years, the Company has evolved to become an engineering trading company that provides power-saving air-conditioning solutions, and a partner in designing and building furniture factories, and providing welding solutions to various factories and projects.

Moreover, M.H. Al Mahroos is also a partner in designing and providing the best diesel engines from DEUTZ, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of innovative drive systems, for generators and pumps factories in the Middle East and Africa region, besides other engineering machinery.

Stemming from its solid belief in the importance of innovation, M.H. Al Mahroos also introduced a pioneering e-commerce and shopping platform, Itemshub, which provides innovative and distinctive e-commerce solutions and makes the shopping and purchase mechanism a fast, smooth and accessible process for everyone at home and in the office.
