International CPR centre at AGU inaugurates its training courses

Manama, Arabian Gulf University: The Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training Centre at the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) has completed its first training courses, training five family medicine physicians in Basic Life Support skills (BLS). The Simulation and skills development Centre held this course after it recently awarded with the accreditation of the International Training Center at the American Heart Association (AHA) after passing the accreditation requirements under the supervision of King Hamad University Hospital for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

The CPR Training Centre at AGU allows medical students at the University to receive certified training at the highest levels to deal with emergency and complex cardiac cases. The centre also assists AGU to continue devoting to the mission, for which it was founded for; to provide an opportunity for workers in the medical sector in Bahrain and the Arabian Gulf region to receive training on dealing with medical issues and emergency cardiac diseases. The Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities from Laerdal Medical.

In addition, Director of the Simulation and Medical Skills Centre at AGU Dr Taysir Garadah said that the Centre is also preparing to conduct advanced training courses in the field of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Furthermore, the Centre intends to expand the circle of beneficiaries of the provided training programmes by organising a training course once a month for workers in the Press, who are not affiliated with AGU.
