Cairo, Egypt:As a part of its efforts to enhance and improve the education in Egypt, Elsewedy Technical Academy (STA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Finnish Global Education Solutions Ltd (FGES), a leading Finnish education provider through its strategic partner in Egypt “ the International Academy for Advanced Research and Studies (IARS)”, to implement the Finnish Vocational education programmes in some of the existing schools run by STA and the new schools STA is planning to establish.

The MoU signing was attended by Eng. Ahmed El Sewedy, Chairman of Elsewedy Electric Foundation, Ms. Hanan El Rihany, CEO of STA, H.E. Laura Kansikas-Debraise, Ambassador of Finland to Egypt, Mr. Risto Vahanen, Board Chairman - FGES, Mr. Azer Sawiris, the International Operations’ Director of FGES and Mr. Karim Elsafty, Regional Director Middle East – IARS

The MoU signed with FGES and IARS opens the doors for the Finnish Vocational Education to be applied  in Egypt, which offers the students a unique respectable international qualifications in vocational education through a dynamic, interactive, challenging, and practical learning environment that follows the Finnish Education System, which is one of the highest ranked systems globally.

The collaboration aims to provide STA students with internationally recognized certification and qualifications in accordance to the Finnish standards and also provide opportunities for student’s mobility within Egypt and Finland, which opens further technical education and training paths for the students and gives them better opportunities within the local and international markets.

On the sidelines of the MoU signing ceremony that took place at Elsewedy Headquarters in New Cairo, Elsewedy Electric Foundation held fruitful discussions with the Finnish side about means of cooperation and effective ways to introduce Finland's successful educational practices and models to STA in Egypt.

STA has always strived to introduce the latest learning and educational models for its students. Earlier, the academy started the German dual education system which has proven its efficiency and success.
