Manama, Bahrain: AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundaiton (MKF) held an induction day at its headquarters for the new batch of students enrolled in the Rayaat Scholarship Program for the year 2019 to 2020, on Saturday September 14th, 2019. The event included a welcome speech by the Chief Executive Officer of AlMabarrah AlKhalifia, Mrs. Saba Seyadi, who briefly introduced the Foundation, its aims, programs and general rules. Among the participants was Dr. Sadiq Al- Alawi from University of Bahrain, who gave a speech about basic learning skills, while the Rayaat Scholarship Program team introduced the new students to the Foundation’s general objectives, its various programs, as well as the benefits of the program.

The 9th batch of Rayaat Scholarship students were selected upon the completion of a thorough selection process, based on academic achievement, interviews, volunteering work and community services experience.  Her Highness Shaikha Moza bint Hamad Al Khalifa Medical Grant was awarded in cooperation with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain.

The Rayaat Scholarship Program offers several benefits to students, including covering all university tuition and book fees, in addition to monthly financial incentives for outstanding students. The program also provides workshops and developmental courses, creating training opportunities in both government and private sectors, job-placement, and community service opportunities are offered within a supportive environment that encourages students to take an active role in the community. Other benefits include the Rayaat Student Card which offers exclusive discounts at a number of retail outlets.

The Rayaat Scholarship Program was initiated to empower students to achieve excellence and realize their ambitions, as well as providing them with the knowledge, skills and work ethics required. The program aims to encourage students to excel by providing them with financial incentives, and aims to instill the values of citizenship, loyalty and social responsibility towards the Kingdom.

Since 2011, the Rayaat Scholarship Program has awarded 279 scholarships across 33 university majors, and has a total of 110 current students, in addition to 108 graduates.
