Riyadh – Total revenue of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Saudi Arabia reached SAR 879.32 billion during the second quarter of the fiscal year 2019, according to a report released by the General Authority for Statistics.

Revenue of small enterprises operating in the private sector with a workforce ranging from 6 to 49 employees amounted to SAR 163.415 billion, accounting for 18.6% of total revenue generated by SMEs in Q2-19.

Moreover, the revenue of medium enterprises with a workforce ranging from 50 to 249 employees recorded SAR 112.39 billion in Q2-19.

Small enterprises are hiring 27% of total employees in the Saudi private sector, or 2.265 million employees, while medium enterprises are hiring only 20%, or 1.618 million employees.
