PARIS: Jean Lou Blachier, President of the Groupement du Patronat Francophone appointed Houssam Nasrawin as the new Vice President in charge of the Middle East and Head of the business development for the region. The organization will open its new office in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The Groupement du Patronat Francophone (“GPF”) is the official group of employers of La Francophonie (the organization of French speaking countries). The GPF is active in 88 countries to develop business relations between French speaking countries, by mainly fostering entrepreneurship initiatives, supporting investments and encouraging international trades. The GPF has also opened its doors to companies from Francophile countries, including all public and private entities that have an interest in doing business with French speaking countries.

French is today the fifth most widely spoken language on the planet, representing 300 million people. French is also the second business language of the European Area and the third global business language in the world

The GPF in the Middle East will facilitate bilateral initiatives, including entrepreneurship and investments, between the region and French speaking countries mainly in Europe and Africa. 

Houssam Nasrawin is a French & Jordanian entrepreneur who worked in investment banking and private equity in France and the UAE. He is currently the CEO of an investment company in Abu Dhabi. He founded the business organization Arab Business Leaders, a platform active in 37 countries that supports entrepreneurial and investment initiatives between the Middle East, Europe and Africa. He graduated from France with a Master’s in finance From Audencia Business School. He lives between Abu Dhabi and Paris.

“The purpose of opening an office in Abu Dhabi, UAE is to cover the Middle East and strengthen the historical business ties between Arab countries and French speaking countries” said Jean Lou Blachier who is also the Vice president of the CPME (the Organization of French small and medium-sized enterprises). He added “The mission of the GPF is line with the Organisation International de la Francophonie. We want to build business bridges between people from all around the World who share the same love for French language, culture and values.”

 “The GPF will be a platform where entrepreneurs and investors from all around the World can meet and discuss together. Through the GPF, we will support companies from Arab countries to set up entities in Europe and generate high returns while we will work with Arab private and public institutions to encourage international companies and investors to come to the region and give them full support to succeed. We will organize roadshows, events and business meetings between business leaders from the Middle East and decision makers from French speaking countries.” said Houssam Nasrawin who has established more than 20 international companies in the Middle East in the last 5 years.

The GPF will organize the Forum International des Entreprises Françaises (International Forum of French Enterprises) on 18th and 19th April in Dakar, Senegal. The forum will be held under the patronage and in presence of the President of President of Senegal, H.E. M Macky Sall and in presence of the President of the International Organization of the Francophonie, Mrs Louise Mushikiwabo. Business delegations from the Middle East will attend the event. “Africa is the fastest growing region in the World. Today 26 countries in Africa have French as an official language. Our role at the GPF is to offer through our organization a gateway for international companies to Africa by giving them access to information, to local partners and to the right public and private entities in the countries where we are active” said Elvire Bondon, Secretary- General of the GPF.

The Groupement du Patronat Francophone is a French association meant to promote business initiatives between all French speaking countries and Francophile countries.

The Groupement du Patronat Francophone was an initiative launched by Jacques Chirac when he was Prime Minister of France in 1975.

The Groupement du Patronat Francophone is open to all members, public and private, interested in doing business with the 88 French speaking countries.

Jean Lou Blachier has been appointed president of the association and has the strategy to widen the members to countries in the Middle East. Seminars, events are roadshows are planned in 2019 in the Middle East.
