The Regency Hotel Kuwait has announced new appointments and promotions to its executive management team.

The new management team brings expanded knowledge, new professional skills and greater international experience to The Regency Hotel.

In late 2018, Otto Kurzendorfer was appointed as general manager for the hotel. His career spans three decades and three continents, with stints in Dubai, Shanghai and with global hotel giants, as Kempinski, IHG and Starwood.

In addition, Sandeep Thekkil has taken on a new role at The Regency Hotel Kuwait after being promoted from director of rooms and revenue to executive assistant manager. Thekkil brings to his new role a wealth of 16 years’ experience in steering operation, revenue management and business development functions in the hospitality sector.  

New appointments were made elsewhere too at The Regency Hotel Kuwait. Khaled Harb has been appointed as marketing director, bringing a solid retail background of 14 years in various fields of marketing.

Michel Gesthuizen joined as the new director of food and beverage. Gesthuizen brings with him 10 years of extensive experience in the food & beverage industry, including conventions and banqueting.

As part of the new change, Ayman Al Bedewi was hired as director of engineering and is responsible for overseeing the operational maintenance of the hotel. In the last 18 years, Al Bedewi has worked at luxury hotels in Jordan including Fairmont, Kempinski, and Mövenpick.

Fouad Noufal was appointed as the director of conference and event sales. Noufal has a total of 10 years’ experience in luxury hotels, mainly Rosewood and Kempinski.

Inge Bouwmans has recently joined as front office manager, to become an integral part of the new team and ensure efficient operation of the hotel’s front office. - TradeArabia News Service
