Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The National Marine Dredging Co (NMDC) has been awarded a project to deepen and develop the sea lane of Egypt's Damietta Port.

The AED 290 million contract includes deepening and developing the sea lane, the port basins, and the circulation basin of Damietta Port as well as soil improvement, including design works, NMDC said in a statement to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) on Sunday.

The project is expected to be implemented over 17 months, the company added.

In September 2020, NMDC was awarded a project worth around AED 600 million ($163 million) to expand Lake Manzala in Egypt.
