AMMAN Water Minister Raed Abul Saud on Sunday approved the implementation of water projects totalling JD1.775 million in the governorates of Karak, Maan and Balqa to improve water provision and supply.

Abul Saud said that these plans are aimed at finding solutions in the short and medium terms for the growing burdens of the sector, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The minister also reviewed several new projects the Water Authority of Jordan has started implementing, including a project in Karak, financed by Saudi Arabia, at a cost of JD650,000, as well as other projects in Maan, at a total cost of JD1.43 million.

He added that a water project in Balqas Mahes and Fuheis, at a cost of JD79,000, will be implemented within three months.
