DUBLIN- Ireland is to cut the value-added tax rate paid by the hospitality sector to 9% from 13.5% to provide relief to an industry badly hit by COVID-19 disruption, finance minister Paschal Donohoe said in his budget speech on Tuesday.

The government is also to provide firms severely hit by specific COVID-19 restrictions, with grants of up to 5,000 euros per week, Donohoe said.
