Cairo –  The Egyptian Ministry of Housing has completed the development of 298 unsafe areas so far, the housing minister Assem El-Gazzar revealed.

A total of 59 unsafe areas comprising of 214,354 residential units are currently under development, El-Gazzar said in a statement on Thursday.

In addition, 53 unplanned areas have been developed, while some other 17 areas are being developed, he added, noting that the total unplanned areas cover an area of 152,000 feddans.

El-Gazzar further added that a total of 18 unplanned markets have been developed and another 22 markets are currently under development.
