BEIJING - China is set to shut down 7.33 gigawatts (GW) of outdated coal-fired power generation capacity from 17 regions in 2020, the National Energy Administration said in a statement on Thursday.

The target came as Beijing vowed to cap the country's total coal-fired power capacity at 1,100 GW by end 2020.
