MANAMA: Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has hailed the selection of Bahrain as the headquarters of the International Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The federation’s founding committee, spearheaded by Abdulnabi Al Shola, called on BCCI chairman Sameer Nass to discuss the federation’s strategy and plans.

The two sides are also planning to consolidate efforts to reinstate Bahrain’s pioneering standing as a business destination and a fertile environment for SMEs.

In this regard, Mr Nass commended the efforts of the founding committee, and expressed pride in the selection Bahrain as the federation’s headquarters.

He also voiced readiness to co-operate with the federation and all initiatives that contribute to promoting the kingdom and highlighting its business environment.

Meanwhile, the BCCI has invited the business community to attend a webinar themed ‘Means of Overcoming the Implications of Coronavirus for Entrepreneurs’.

Being held today from 10.30am, the webinar will be conducted in Arabic via the Zoom application.

It will highlight entrepreneur experiences in coping with the situation enforced by the coronavirus pandemic and their success in overcoming hardships.

The meeting will also focus on the importance of keeping abreast of economic changes and adopting technologies that enhance the efficiency of operations and the agility of business.
