Russia ran a current account surplus of $138.5 billion in the first six months of 2022, up from $39.7 billion in the same period last year, central bank data showed on Monday.
Russia is on track to post a record high current account surplus this year, which helps the rouble firm, after its imports of goods and services fell due to western sanctions while commodity export revenues got a boost from globally high prices. (Reporting by Reuters)
