JAKARTA - Indonesia's Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati on Tuesday said her focus was on her current role, sidestepping a question on whether she was a potential candidate to become central bank governor.

Speaking during a panel discussion, Sri Mulyani said the mechanism to select a new governor would be based on the law.

Also on the panel were current Bank Indonesia governor Perry Warjiyo and the head of the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, who did not answer the question.

Sources with knowledge of the matter have told Reuters Purbaya is a potential candidate and Warjiyo is being considered for another term.
