ArabFinance: The New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) agreed with Siemens Gamesa to operate and carry out maintenance works of Gabal el Zeit 220 megawatt wind station, Al Borsa News cited unnamed sources on February 21st.

The contracts are expected to be signed this month, according to the sources.

Egypts NREA will launch a tender for Gabal el Zeit 3 wind farm of 120 megawatts during the second half of March or in the first week of April.

A year ago, the German company was in talks with the NREA to acquire land for the construction of a 500-megawatt wind station.
