Iraq has invited investors for the rebuilding and operation of a pesticide chemicals plant, a news network said on Tuesday.

The Industry and Minerals Ministry is offering the project in the Western Al-Anbar governorate for investment on public-private sector sharing agreement, Al-Forat News said, citing Ali Al-Shammari, director general of Furat State Company for Chemical Industries, an affiliate of the Ministry.

"We invite all Iraqi and foreign companies with experience in this sector to submit bids for this important investment opportunity in Iraq," Shammari said.

He said the decision to attract investment to this project is intended to secure funds since such industries require large capital and the construction of new production lines at the plant.
