Mubasher: Agthia Group and Kuwait’s Al Wafir Marketing Services Company have opened United Khaleeji Water Co. Plant, a joint venture between both firms.

The new facility in Kuwait’s Sabhan Industrial Area was completed in July and started its production, with a bottling capacity of 8 million cases per annum, according to a company statement released on Tuesday.

"The opening of Agthia’s first facility in Kuwait demonstrates our commitment to establish the Group as a leading regional food and beverages player, growing our business beyond the UAE and above all, ensuring sustainable value creation for our shareholders and business partners,” Agthia’s chairman Dhafer Ayed Al Ahbabi commented.

United Khaleeji Water Co. Plant produces, in addition to Al Ain regular water, Al Ain Zero no-sodium drinking water.

"We look forward to transferring the expertise of Agthia Group to Kuwait, and providing the local market with innovative, high-quality products that compete with the largest brands locally and globally,” Al Wafir’s chairman and CEO Ali Al-Rqobah said.
