23/10/2013, Muscat: WH Smith, One of the UK's leading retail giants was named as the '2013 BEST SHOPPING/ RETAIL OUTLET' at the 1st ever Oman Airport Awards announced on the 21st of October by Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC) at Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa, Muscat, under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Salem Al-Futaisi, Minister of Transport & Communications.

Mr. Ajit Singh, Group General Manager of Asha Enterprises, received the award from H.E. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Salem Al-Futaisi, Minister of Transport & Communications. One of the UK's leading travel retail giants, WH Smith is known for its collection of books, stationery, magazines, newspapers, confectionery, impulse products and entertainment items.

WHSmith outlets in Oman include the Muscat International Airport (Departure, Arrivals and Lounge), with a stand-alone store at Jawahar Al Shatti and Royal Opera Galleria.

The Airport authorities were of the opinion that WH Smith was by far the traveller's best choice and had a thorough understanding of its customer base and demands which is matched by peerless staff training and an exciting range of exclusive product promotions.
