W Doha, the much-anticipated and soon-to-open Starwood Hotels & Resorts property, announces the appointment of Edgar Vaudeville as Manager of the hotel's Wahm and WET Lounge, a new concept of Arabic poolside lounge where shisha will be served alongside Doha's hottest new place to hang out during the day, the WET pool and lounge. In his new position, Mr. Vaudeville will be responsible for all operational aspects of the Wahm and WET Lounge and report directly to Janin Smollny, Director of Beverage & Food at the W Doha Hotel & Residences.
Mr. Vaudeville comes to W Doha with fourteen years of extensive and diverse experience in the restaurant and hospitality industries and has worked around the globe, honing his talents under some of the hospitality and restaurant worlds' most recognized and revered names. His work has taken him to Poland, Australia, Thailand, Canada, Malaysia and the U.S. Mr. Vaudeville has spent much of his time in France and England learning from and working with such respected names as Alain Ducasse, Roger Verge, Bernard Chauve and Michel Kerever at such esteemed establishments as Le Parc and Maxim's in Paris.
Speaking of his appointment at the W Doha Hotel & Residences, the first in the Middle East, Mr. Vaudeville said, "It is an honor and an exciting opportunity to be a part of the W experience in Doha. Most recently, Mr. Vaudeville has served as Consultant and Manager at the new Thermal Resort in Poland, Hotel Costes in Paris, Sheraton Grand Sukhumvit Luxury Collection in Bangkok, the Four Seasons in Toronto and Patou in Philadelphia. His comprehensive consultancy and management experience will allow his skills to shine at the W Doha through his expertise in guest services, marketing and development and talents management. Mr. Vaudeville holds a Bachelor degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the Glion Institute of Higher Education - Glion Hotel Management School in Switzerland, and Certificates and Diplomas from the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Paris, France.
The W Doha Wahm and WET Lounge will be unlike any place in Doha with a funky, pool-side take on fun and an innovative, unique outdoor bar and 22 exclusive cabanas with their own lighting and sound systems. Wahm will feature a refreshing and delicious array of Shisha flavors and a delectable selection of snacks and Turkish and Lebanese mezze and is decorated in bright, jewel colors and cozy, cushion-filled banquets. WET is a conceptual, fun-lover's dream, a black pool lit by the latest in LED illumination and surrounded by private cabanas with wide views and private sound systems.
