Twelve grand prizes plus hundreds of weekly giveaways to be used to encourage Visa cardholders to get cash to walk the plank
Dubai, 29th April 2007 - As part of its ten year global partnership with Disney, Visa International is bringing an exclusive six-week promotion to cardholders in the Gulf coinciding with the launch of hotly anticipated Pirates of the Caribbean 3, At World's End. The Disney partnership allows for Visa to be the exclusive host of the UAE premier on Monday 23 May 2007 and partake in branded merchandise and promotional activities.
The promotion is set to take place from 1st May to 15 June 2007 and is open to Visa and Visa Electron cardholders in the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman. Cardholders making purchases anywhere in the world will be automatically entered to win one of twelve grand prize six-night cruises for two around the stunning Greek Islands and daily instant giveaways. Additional grand prizes will be given away by select Visa retail partners, Showtime, Carrefour and Toys R Us.
Pirates of the Caribbean 2, Dead Man's Chest, broke box office records across the world being the first film to pass $100 million in only two days. The film was the third highest selling film in the Middle East to date and made over $1.6 billion in the worldwide box office in 2006. The third sequel in the trilogy is anticipated to be no exception.

Special pirate-themed kiosks will be placed at movie theatres at select malls in Dubai, Qatar and Bahrain where cardholders will have the opportunity to present Visa credit and debit card transaction receipts to win instant prizes every day. Kiosks will be located at Grand Mercato, Mercato Shopping Centre and Grand Megaplex, Ibn Battuta Shopping Mall in Dubai, Mall Cineplex, City Centre in Qatar and Seef Megaplex, Seef Mall in Bahrain.
Exclusively in Dubai, the Visa Pirates of the Caribbean kiosks will invite parents to provide Visa credit and debit card transaction slips to allow their children to enjoy pirate themed face painting and have a memorable picture taken at the pirate themed photo stand.
From May 1st until the Pirates of the Caribbean release on 23 May 2007, radio listeners will have the chance to win tickets to the exclusive premier event at Grand Cineplex Cinema through daily radio competitions on 104.8, Radio 4 FM and 107.8 in the UAE, Kuwait Marina FM, Qatar FM and Bahrain FM radio stations.
