As part of its ongoing efforts to provide a highly reliable business environment and distinguished work system, Umniah announced that it has obtained the ISO 22301:2012 certification, the international standard for a controlled business continuity management system, after ensuring that it had fully complied with the procedures followed in this field.
The ISO 22301:2012 certification is an international framework that helps businesses identify potential threats to critical functions and design an effective business continuity management plan. Umniah has successfully implemented the requirements of this certification that aim to protect, reduce the likelihood of occurrence, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive incidents when they arise, enabling the company to respond effectively and promptly to any potential threats while providing a high level of services to its shareholders.
On this occasion, Umniah CEO Ziad Shatara stressed the importance of obtaining the ISO 22301:2012 certification as a step towards following and implementing the highest international standards in business operations management, enabling Umniah to continually meet the needs and aspirations of its customers on the one hand, and keep pace with the ever-changing business environment on the other hand.
Shatara explained that the business continuity management system works to identify potential risks and establish proactive response mechanisms that aim to protect its operations in the event of a breakdown or threat, which helps the company safeguard its assets and revenues without any major disruptions or losses.
According to Shatara, the system also helps to maintain the levels of service offered to the company’s customers, as well as minimize impacts when a malfunction occurs in any of its functions, in addition to helping decision makers in the company make the right decisions promptly and efficiently, indicating that this system increases the company’s competitive advantage and enhances its reputation by improving customer confidence in the company’s ability to respond to threats.
In January this year, Umniah received the ISO 10001:2018 Quality Management - Customer Satisfaction certification, a testament to its remarkable efforts in achieving excellence throughout its various functions, by setting guidelines that have become an integral part of an effective complaint-handling process in order to best meet the needs and expectations of its customers.
