His Excellency Sultan Al Mansouri, the UAE Minister of Economy, stressed on joint cooperation with Lebanon in all economic sectors, particularly in agricultural industries. He was welcoming His Excellency Ghazi Zaiter, Minister of Industry, His Excellency Fawzi Fawaz, the Lebanese Ambassador in the UAE and other high ranking officials from the Lebanese Chamber of Industry and Commerce during their visit to the UAE.

Mr Al Mansouri highlighted the need to exchange expertise and investment between the two countries, and in energizing the joint committee and forming special work teams to follow up on the activities undertaken. He said UAE entrepreneurs are looking at investment options in Lebanon, and stressed that more cooperation in agricultural industries will benefit both countries.

Mr Zaiter praised the economic growth of in the UAE, and expressed Lebanon's readiness to provide all favorable conditions and legal facilities to enhance the investment environment in the country's industrial sector. He highlighted the need to benefit from the Emarati expertise in all economic sectors, especially in developing free zones, citing that Lebanon has created an economic zone in the North of the country that complies with the free zone laws recognized globally.

The meeting also discussed agreements to strengthen economic relations between the two countries and accelerate the formation of the joint committee and work teams to follow up on the latest initiatives undertaken by the UAE and Lebanon.    

Al Mansouri stressed on the importance of such meetings to exchange points of view, discuss mutual cooperation frameworks and boost trade exchange between the UAE and Lebanon. He also praised the strategic ties that the Emirates have with Lebanon and reiterated the need to enhancing cooperation in key growth sectors.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Mohammed Al Shihhi, Director General of the MoE, and Ali Fael Mubarak, Director of Structures Directorate and economic expert at the MoE.
