A binary agreement has been signed today in Dubai to build a first strategic partnership of its kind in the region between Team Power International and the US ActiveStrategy Inc. in a step to contribute to enhance and develop corporate performance in UAE and the Middle East. The importance of this step in light of the economic crisis is based on the fact that it will contribute greatly to update corporate performance at all organizations and help decision makers reduce costs and highly activate their role. Under this partnership, both public and private organizations in the Arab countries would be able to develop and enhance their organizational performance and successful implementation of organization strategy in a transparent and timely manner thanks to the great experiences possessed by both organizations within each of their specialization.
This partnership was announced during a press conference organized by Team Power International, the leading organization in the field of corporate performance, to announce the strategic partnership signed with ActiveStrategy Inc. one of the fast-developing companies in the field of performance management software. Based on this agreement, Team Power International will be the exclusive representative of ActiveStrategy in the region.
On the objectives behind this agreement, Dr. Kasim Kanakri, CEO of Team Power International and one of the region's Arab leading experts in the field of strategic thinking and planning, said: " Corporate excellence is the cornerstone in the advanced management strategy sponsored by HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nehiyan, President of the State, and HH Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-president, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, in addition to their support for excellence awards and the building of excellence culture in all government organizations"
He added: " Based on our past experience and profound knowledge of the demands placed on private and public organizations in different Arab countries, and according to studies conducted by leading performance management experts, we noticed that 7 out of 10 strategic plans are not properly implemented, not because of the lack of interest but due to the lack of a systematic communication of these plans by top management to the lower organizational levels, who are entrusted with the task of implementing such strategies and policies."
He indicated: "We entered in this agreement with ActiveStrategy Inc. to benefit from its experiences and make use of their leading performance management software, with the aim of enhancing the consultancy services in the UAE and the region and building closer relationships with our customers through facilitating the software implementation.
Kanakri said: "I think this agreement will be a qualitative move for consultancy service in the UAE and other Arab countries. This will provide customers with integrated services from strategic planning, performance management to system automation.
He added: "Software will shorten the strategy implementation time by 50% through the utilization of modern technologies to facilitate the strategy communication and cascading process, in addition to accelerating decision making process, enhancing information accuracy, easy access to decision makers, and many other benefits".
In answering to the question of the difference between ActiveStrategy software and others, he said: "There are many excellent software in the market; however, they are not cost effective and therefore they are not competitive in the current economic situation.
He explained: "Strategies will not be successfully implemented without focusing on initiatives and programs which are linked and supportive of an integrated strategic management system.
He believes that the focus of the government and private organizations on strategy and performance management based on best practices is the shortest way to achieve the integrated strategic management initiatives launched by HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nehiyan, President of the State, and HH Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-president, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. This positioned UAE in its current leading role in the area of strategic management development. These developmental initiatives aim at building management excellence based on three key foundations: Strategic thinking, strategic planning, and strategic performance management.
According to studies, the global consultancy market volume and technological solutions in the world exceeds Dhs. 61 billions in 2007 (equivalent to $16.6 billions), out of which $5.1 billions for consultancy, and $11.5 billions for technological solutions, systems and programs. Growth in demand for these consultations and solutions will continue in an average ranging between 10-15% during the next 3 years. This implies the great importance companies and organizations put for performance development to increase productivity and profitability.
Concerning the challenges faced by managers, he said: "There are many challenges, chief among them are: 1) the weak alignment between employees' personal goals and the organizational strategic objectives; 2) lack of reliable mechanism for immediate and regular evaluations of performance status at departmental, sectional, and individuals levels; 3) the delay in strategic and operational decision making due to non availability of immediate and reliable information based on hard facts; 4) the rise in stakeholders expectations and demands for better, faster and more reliable services and information; and 5) the government directives and the adoption of Excellence as the ultimate strategy for government sector.
