Two distributors were recognised during an awarding ceremony held recently at the Toshiba Gulf headquarters.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 10th November 2011 - Toshiba Gulf presents Business to Business awards to its Kuwait distributor Arabian Business Machines Co. (ABM) and Oman distributor Bahwan IT. The awards were presented by Toshiba Gulf Managing Director Mr. Yasuyoshi Matsunaga and General Manager Santosh Varghese at a ceremony held at the Toshiba Gulf Office, Dubai.

Toshiba presented the awards Platinum Business to Business Partner of the Year to Bahwan IT and Gold Business to Business Partner of the Year to ABM.

"The performance of our Middle East distributors has contributed greatly to the market growth of Toshiba within the region. They have played a major role not only in bringing the Toshiba products to consumers but also in ensuring that our brand values quality, trust and reliability are reflected across all products and services that we offer," stated Varghese.

In 2010, Toshiba, through its Kuwait distributor ABM signed a deal with Kuwait's Ministry of Finance to deliver notebooks for everyday computing, business and multimedia users. The agreement services for the deal include a three-year warranty, and on-site service for the laptops. All government ministries, departments, public institutions and organizations in Kuwait were given access to the latest Qosmio and Tecra laptop range of Toshiba.

"Acquiring the 'Joint Purchase Committee Tender for 2010 - 2011' in Kuwait was a joint effort between ABM and Toshiba. The tender committee understood the quality, and reliability of Toshiba products and recognized the excellent after sales service offered by ABM which overall met the requirements of the tender," shared Kamal Aboul-Hosn, General Manager, ABM.  

In the same year, Toshiba won a tender with Oman's Information Technology Authority (ITA) for Oman's National PC Initiative. The deal is the first of its kind in the GCC offering a fully funded programme for Omanis and positions Oman as a leader in technology education and literacy in the Arab world. As part of a competitive pitch, Toshiba was selected as the vendor for the deal due to the brand's reliability and continuous commitment to technological development in the region. Recipients of the grant received the latest Toshiba Satellite C660 series laptop.

ABM was appointed distributor for Toshiba in Kuwait since the company's establishment in 1983. Headquartered in Kuwait City, ABM specialises in office automation, solution and after sales service.

Bahwan Group has been Toshiba's partner in Oman for more than 20 years. Bahwan Electronics, the IT distributor of the Bahwan Group has been delivering Toshiba IT products for the past 8 years, while Bahwan IT has been engaged with Toshiba Corporate IT products for more than 15 years.
