Saudi Telecom Communications (STC) participating in CCE 2005, which is being held at the Dhahran Expo Centre from the until the 30th of September has been showing off its newest technology to visitors. Their new 3G and Sky DSL, the first to be offered by any company in the KSA, with service due to commence in early 2006
The testing of its new 3G service, the latest revolution in the communications world, which has been very successful in Europe and the Far East, is sure to reaffirm STC's position as the regions number one telecommunications company and only the second in the Middle East after Bahrain to offer such a service.
Using the latest 3G technology the service allows information to be sent at high speed without delay or distortion to any other 3G phone. Visitors tried out the new services including; video conferencing & calls, plus watching live satellite TV as well as listening to radio stations, surfing the net and playing the latest video games. Showcasing the new Sky DSL data card which gives users instant high speed Internet access throughout the Kingdom up to 2MB speed will leave it's competitors standing on the sidelines.
Commenting on the new services STC's, General Manager, Eng. Saad Dhafer Al Qahtani says "As the market leader with nearly 10 million customers and 43% penetration, these new services give us a chance to show the industry that the company is committed to developing and providing the most innovative products in the Kingdom." He continues "The business is growing rapidly with just over 200,000 new customers in the last quarter alone, we want to deliver the highest quality services, with new technology being developed everyday we want to be at the forefront and lead the way offering our customers only the best"
The eye-catching and innovative stand has been showcasing the company's services including: Saudi Data, which has a wide range of products from high speed Internet to Hi-tech solutions for businesses. During CCE, STC has been offering free Internet access for visitors demonstrating its customer focused website and the 'My Services' portal has been specially developed to fulfil customers needs online. It has everything from bill management and payment to sending an SMS to any mobile phone around the world. The Al Hatif team, STC's landline service with over 3.5 million users and the biggest network infrastructure in the region are on hand to show off its latest developments.
Since entering the mobile communications market in 1996 with its Al Jawal offering which has nearly 10 million customers and is the number one provider in the region Al Jawal has gone from strength to strength. By developing new products, technology and services including: SAWA its pre-pay option to MMS (Multi Media Messaging), live news, mobile entertainment and soon to be launched 3G, Al Jawal is definitely leading the way in the field of mobile communication proving STC's market position as market leader.
