Abu Dhabi, February 28th, 2015 - The General Authority for Regulating the Telecommunications Sector (TRA) successful highlighted the latest security and defence technologies introduced by its subsidiaries; the UAE Computer Emergency Response Team (aeCERT) and Spectrum, through its participation in the international defence exhibition and conference - IDEX 2015.

The TRA stand was visited by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, along a number of visiting delegations, dignitaries and important guests.

Also amongst other activities at the TRA stand, a coordination meeting was held between the TRA and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA). The meeting was held to synchronise the use of frequencies in the field of search and rescue, as well as the efforts exhibited by the TRA to review the creation of a database of wireless signals, that operate on 406 MHz, particularly to be used in emergency distress situations.

IDEX is the only international defence exhibition and conference in the MENA region demonstrating the latest technology across land, sea and air sectors of defence. It is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and is organised by the IDEX LLC in association and with the full support of the UAE Armed Forces.
