Abu Dhabi: With Ramadan set to begin in a few days, IVI Middle East Fertility Clinic encourages couples to take the first step towards making their dream of having a baby come true during the holy month. In lieu of the same, the clinic will run a campaign titled ‘This Ramadan, Start Something New’, which aims to encourage couples towards an overall health-oriented lifestyle. The holy month of Ramadan is the right time for us to cleanse our bodies and mind. To top that, if we also pledge to bring those much-needed lifestyle changes and put our health first, it will yield better outcomes. This is what the IVI philosophy is and in fact everyone in IVI Fertility too is going to begin by taking a new healthy pledge by signing on the pledge board during the Ramadan period. In addition, the clinic is also extending its support to those already undergoing or evaluating IVF and are a part of the IVF Fertility & Support Group on Facebook. The Dubai clinic would offer a flat discount of AED 2,000 on IVF treatments to these members in the UAE.
“We are not sure on what the correlation is between fasting and IVF outcomes, but to go through the fertility process at a time when one is going deeper into spirituality may help better manage different emotions. A number of industry studies have revealed that fasting could help improve mental health and lessen stress, worry, depression, and anxiety. Improving one’s emotional state is a definite plus that can significantly bolster the chances of success of any assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedure, including IVF,” said Dr Laura Melado, IVF Specialist, IVI Middle East Fertility Clinic, Abu Dhabi.
IVF is one of the most popular ART treatments being sought by many couples today. Some couples opt to go through the medical procedure during Ramadan, hoping that the success rate would be higher if done during the holy month as it is an auspicious time.
“We want to show our support to patients who have made the decision to go through the process during the holy month. Members of the IVF support group in the country may avail the discount in our Dubai facility, where we provide patients with a personalized care to deliver the best treatment for their condition,” added the IVF counsellor from, IVI Fertility Dubai clinic.
In addition to the benefits of fasting for reducing stress and anxiety, fasting also enables patients to achieve their ideal body mass index before going through the IVF procedure. To follow a healthy diet and to reduce overweight will improve the success rate of fertility treatments.
IVI Fertility reiterated, however, that there is no scientific evidence that establishes the success rates with the Ramadan period. The holy month of Ramadan is also a time to hope and persevere. For couples who have been longing to have a child, it is a reminder to not give up hope.
