Cairo: April 30th 2012: In a press conference held during Cairo ICT 2012, TE Data launched its brand new Cloud Security service which allows the IT security team to create a comprehensive policy for security, anti-spam, mail flow management, and DLP. TE Data also revealed the opening of its new Data Center in Smart Village with L.E 60 million worth of investments as well as unveiling its 2012 CSR plans.
TE Data's Chairman, Azza Torky announced the continuation of TE Data's CSR initiative; village development. After undertaking the development of Zaki village in Al Fayoum last year, TE Data is teaming up with Al Orman NGO to develop three more villages in the same governorate in 2012. The developing process already started in April to be completed in December 2012. The announcement reflects the corporate persistence in improving the living standards of the marginalized groups in Egypt.
"'Al Modereya', 'Abdel Ghani' and 'Khalil Al Gendi' are the three new villages TE Data is developing in Al Fayoum governorate" Ahmed Ossama, TE Data's Managing Director stated. He added that the development will include proper housing, roofing, water and electricity in addition to health and educational services. TE Data will also help the villagers get officially registered through National ID cards and birth certificates. TE Data is also committed to provide job opportunities through the implementation of small projects that would secure sustainable income to the villagers.
Ossama unveiled a new TE Data service to be available in the third quarter of 2012. The service allows home automation of all the electronic devices at home via mobile, computer or tablet over the WiFi service provided by TE Data.
It includes a special application that allows the user to control any device through a text message and can also monitor his/her house from a remote place through a camera. Through a feature called "security emotion", the user can also place a device on his/her door to inform them of any security threat or unusual activity happening in front of their house.
Tamer Gadallah, TE Data's Managing Director announced the launch of TE Data's new Data Center in Smart Village with L.E 60 million worth of investment. The Center was established according to high international standards.
Gaddallah revealed new services provided through the Data Center, the services include the "Managed Firewall" which is a fully managed stand-alone UTM device that provides a barrier between your internal communications network and the outside network world. It allows authorized users access and keeps destructive forces out of your domain.
"UTM is a unified security platform that provides full security services, like preventing viruses, complete email protection, preventing data loss, filtering the Internet from malicious sites and improving network performance." stated Gaddallah.
Moreover, Gaddallah explained that TE Data Managed WAN Optimization service accelerates key business applications and enables the maximum performance for application between headquarters and branch offices, data centers and disaster recovery sites, local and global offices. This service contributes to improving the performance of widespread networks, which enhances the productivity of employees who are constantly on the move.
Gaddallah pointed out that TE Data provide the first cloud based service in Egypt; cloud security is solving some of the most complex security problems facing large enterprises.
