Stand is recognised by the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council

Abu Dhabi-UAE: 21 January, 2015 : Tadweer (The Center of Waste Management - Abu Dhabi) has received a certificate of appreciation from the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC) for its eco-friendly stand at the EcoWaste event, which has been constructed from 100% reusable materials.

The stand uses old steel structures and containers collected from different parts of the United Arab Emirates, with 95% of the used materials sourced from local recycled materials. More than 2,000 water metal cans were utilised in the stand's ceiling, which were collected from shopping malls and schools, and the stand's floor uses 100% recyclable materials.  

Commenting on the letter, His Excellency Eisa Saif Al Qubaisi, General Manager of Tadweer (The Center of Waste Management - Abu Dhabi), said: "We are thrilled to receive this certificate of appreciation letter the UPC, which recognises the efforts of our team in constructing the Tadweer stand at EcoWASTE 2015 using completely reusable and recyclable materials. We are always committed to keeping the environment safe, clean and sustainable for the next generations, and we work with the Abu Dhabi Government to enhance the lifestyle in the Emirate as per the directions of our leadership and the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030."

Mohammed Al Khadar, Executive Director of Urban Development & Estidama Sector , UPC commented: "Treating used material, recycling it and making new uses for it are very important steps in conserving the environment and saving our resources. We are pleased with the role that Tadweer is playing in conserving the environment in Abu Dhabi, and their contribution to the rational use of natural resources, to enhance the quality of life for people living in the Emirate."
