The UAE's leading medical distributor will provide 13 state of the art machines for the new hospital

Abu Dhabi, March - Symed UAE, a leading distributor of medical equipment in the UAE and Abu Dhabi's Al Noor hospital recently signed a partnership deal which will see the brand new hospital equipped with 13 new machines for diagnostic imaging, ultrasound and picture archiving as part of the new hospital complex development.

Among the new machines at the hospital will be dedicated 4D Obstetrics and Gynecology Ultrasound equipment, cardiac stress and ultrasound technologies and a state of the art General Electric (GE) medical 64 - slice CT scanner. This scanner is the first of its kind in an Abu Dhabi private hospital and offers thorough, high quality imaging to heart patients in a matter of seconds. The implications for advanced diagnostics are numerous.

Dr. Kassem Alom, Managing Director at the Al - Noor hospital explained: "By opening our hospital with this level of technology, as doctors, we feel we can provide expert care to all of our patients which will be backed up by the necessary diagnostic equipment. The benefits for patients, especially in the field of cardiology will be numerous - including less invasive surgery and more accurate diagnoses."

The brand new Al - Noor hospital plans on welcoming patients from 1st May 2007 when 150 beds including royal suites will be available. Designed as a modern, world - class hospital, the new Al - Noor is based on American design and the hospital will also provide an emergency department, 7 operating theatres an 800sq ft radiology department and 62 outpatient clinics - the greatest concentration of outpatient clinics in Abu Dhabi.

The new Al - Noor hospital's aim is to reduce waiting times and provide better facilities for treating its existing daily average of 1500 patients.
