Signs partnership agreement with UK-based Practical Energy Solution

Dubai: The UAE-based conglomerate S.S. Lootah Group will introduce biodiesel processor known as the Biobot to the UAE, in cooperation with UK- based Practical Energy Solutions. The compact processor is fitted with a unique feature that accelerates the reaction and settling time in the production of biodiesel from hours to just minutes.

A partnership agreement was signed recently by Mr. Yousif Lootah, Director, S.S. Lootah Group and Mr. Colin Bolton, Managing Director, Practical Energy Solutions, to partner in introducing Biobot, initially within the UAE and later in the GCC countries.

Commenting on the impact of brining such a product to market, Mr. Yousif Saeed Lootah said: "As we move towards a sustainable future, introducing Biobot may help businesses and individuals to take those initial steps towards a green future while inspiring them in taking the leadership in the change process. This product has the potential as a key enabler in contributing towards reducing the carbon footprint."

Mr. Colin Bolton commented: "We are pleased to cooperate with S.S. Lootah Group and share our knowledge and competence in the European market. Having pioneered many sustainable initiatives, S.S. Lootah is the right partner to introduce this product to the UAE. Biobot is compatible for home and business use, and can be deployed at schools and universities to create awareness among students and the society. Practically, anyone with used cooking oil can use Biobot to fuel their diesel powered vehicles with biodiesel."

A considerable amount of cooking oil goes waste from the restaurants, food chains and the home kitchens of the UAE. Disposing of used cooking oil can block drains and harm the environment. Recycling used cooking oil into biodiesel has both environmental and economic benefits.

S.S. Lootah has been at the forefront of embracing new technologies that showcase tangible environmental and economic benefits. The company's efforts to fuel its heavy vehicle fleet on 5% biodiesel have earned the RTA's Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST) 2011, in the Environment Conservation category. This partnership comes as part of S.S. Lootah's efforts to take the Biodiesel Project to the next level.
