Securities & Investment Company (SICO), licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) as a conventional wholesale bank, announced today two new appointments to its management team, following CBB approval.
Mr. K. Shyam Krishnan has been appointed Chief Financial Officer. He has 25 years' experience in finance, accounting, audit, investments and risk management, embracing both conventional and Sharia-compliant banking. Prior to joining SICO, he was Group Head of Finance at Al Salam Bank-Bahrain. Before this, he was Head of Operational Risk Management - Hedge funds at Investcorp, Bahrain; and Audit Supervisor at the Bahrain office of Ernst & Young. A Chartered Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified IS Auditor, Management Accountant, and Certified Internal Auditor, Mr. Krishnan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Madras, India.
Mr. Ali Marshad has been appointed Head of Fixed Income. He has 10 years' experience in asset management, investments, treasury and brokerage. Joining SICO in 2008 as an Analyst in the Investments & Treasury division, he then headed up the newly-established Fixed Income Desk in 2012. Prior to joining SICO, he worked in the UK as an Analyst with Mercer Investment Consulting, and as a Performance Analyst with UBS Global Asset Management - London. A Chartered Financial Analyst, Mr. Marshad holds a BSc degree in Banking, Finance & Management from Loughborough University, UK.
Commenting on these new appointments, SICO Chief Executive Officer, Ms Najla M. Al Shirawi, said: "We constantly seek to attract new high-calibre talent, together with promoting from within the Bank to provide staff with attractive career progression opportunities.

As of June 30th , 2015, SICO reported total assets of BD 123.8 million, with shareholders' equity of BD 60.646 million. SICO's shares have been listed on the Bahrain Bourse since May 2003. Securities & Investment Company was the first 'closed' company to list on the exchange.
