The third group of Youth Career Initiative program (YCI) in Jordan has been graduated in Sheraton Amman under the patronage of the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Maha Al Khateeb. Sheraton Amman has sponsored the annual event as part of its support to Jordan's community.

The YCI program which is supervised locally by Jordan River Foundation was sponsored by Sheraton Amman in addition to other three five-star hotels which accept trainees from this program to work for 6 months. The YCA is implemented in cooperation with Prince of Wales Council for International Work Pioneers.

Minister of Tourism Al Khateeb gave out the certificates to twenty graduates; seven of them were trained at Sheraton Amman including the first Jordanian female attending the program who got the attention of the local media.

The Area General Manager of Jordan & GM of Sheraton Amman Mr. Alexander Bieber said: it is our honor to participate in the program which provides a group of Jordanian youth with work and life skills that will enable them to find relevant jobs not only in hotels and tourism sectors, but also in many other different fields.

The HR Director of Sheraton Amman Mr. Kareem Tuqan (Master of Ceremony) also highlighted the importance of the YCA program which will begin its fourth year. "The program is a great opportunity to help the fresh graduates, who are trained for six months in a number of hotel's departments, start their careers confidently." he added.

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities stressed the role of the tourism sector as one of the promising sectors in Jordan which helps in increasing the number of job vacancies.

The General Manger of The Jordan River Foundation Ms. Valentina Qseseieh underlined the objectives of the YCA program and expressed delight to have a female among the trainees.
