More than 700 internal auditing professionals, decision-makers to attend the two-day conference

Region's largest smart conference and a premier internal audit event

DUBAI, April 18, 2017

His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, will inaugurate the 18th Annual Regional Audit Conference being organised by the UAE Internal Auditors Association, tomorrow, April 19, in Jumeirah at Ettihad Towers, Abu Dhabi.

The 2-day conference is the largest “Smart” conference and a premier Internal Audit event in the Middle East and expects over 700 attendees including heads of organisations, experts and professionals from internal auditing and other industries from across the GCC and beyond.

As the UAE’s economy continues to diversify and record a strong growth, organisations are increasingly focusing on streamlining their operations and enhancing efficiencies, toward which internal auditing plays a key role.   

The inaugural day of the conference will have a special address from Mohammed Jameel Al Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer, Masdar, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company on ‘The Journey from Internal Audit to CEO’ and from Abdulqader Obaid Ali, President of UAE IAA and CEO of Smartworld, on ‘What CEOs expect from Internal Audit in the Hyperloop Era’. Mishal Hamed Kanoo, Chairman, The Kanoo Group, will speak on ‘The Importance of Internal Audit in Family Owned Businesses’, on the second day.

UAE’s leading motivational speaker Dave Crane will talk about ‘Smart business branding and becoming unstoppable’ and US-based eminent speaker and bestselling author Jason Mefford will speak about ‘How to see risk clearly in an accelerating business environment’. 

Decision makers and eminent global internal auditing experts from leading companies including PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Protiviti, Moore Stephens, Delloitte, Grant Thornton, Team Mate and EY, will have engaging presentations and will discuss the latest trends and issues related to the Internal Auditing profession.
