Delegate numbers set to increase for the third consecutive year
Dubai - Leading specialists from the Middle East, Europe and the USA will be converging on Dubai from tomorrow for a series of healthcare congresses.
The International Emergency Medical Services Congress 2005 will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel from 13-15 September and, for the third consecutive year, will provide exhibitors, delegates and visitors with unparalleled access to international experts and decision makers.
The congress will include presentations from speakers at world-renowned healthcare institutions such as Harvard Medical School, USA, Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar, the Bahrain Ministry of Health and Barts and Royal London Hospital, UK. For the first time, Dubai Police General Headquarters will present a local case study on reducing emergency response times.
Middle East Trauma is running in parallel with The International Emergency Medical Services Congress 2005 due to the intrinsic link between emergency services and trauma care. The congress will present the latest findings in a wide variety of trauma related areas, including airway management, trauma assessment and priorities, as well as trauma diagnosis and prevention. Speakers from Bringham and Women's Hospital, USA, University Hospital, Rotterdam, Netherlands, UAE University, Dubai Bone and Joint Center, UAE, and the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, UAE, will offer the latest solutions for trauma management.
For the first time ever in the Middle East, an interactive, pre-conference (Trauma) workshop will be held on Tuesday, 13 September on, "The Difficult Airway in the Trauma Patient." Dr. Ron M. Walls, Chairman, Department of Emergency Medicine, Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) a Partners HealthCare Hospital, Associate Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA, will chair the workshop and offer best practice solutions to those involved. Additionally on Thursday 15th September, Dr Walls will host an EMS (Emergency Medical Services) workshop on, "EMS Airway Management".
Patient Safety 2005, is taking place from 17-19 September, will re-unite infection control specialists to share best practice on a wide variety of infection control issues pertinent to the Middle East and beyond. For the first time on one platform in the Middle East keynote speakers from Johns Hopkins Hospital, USA, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, USA, The Health Protection Agency, UK and The Royal Hospital, Oman, will present new findings and recommendations for improving infection control in the region.
