Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) announces the opening of its new Disease Prevention & Screening Center (DPSC) in Mussafah beginning from may 23rd 2010 which coincides with the closure of its old facility in the same area. The said facility is managed and operated by its Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS). This move is designed to meet the growing demand for expanded availability of the residence visa medical fitness tests. The new centre is designed according to international standards which aim to provide the best service through the smooth completion of screening procedures within the shortest possible timeframe.
The centre will function from 7am to 7pm, Sunday to Thursday, in order to keep pace with the remarkable growth in various sectors of commercial, industrial and urban spheres in Abu Dhabi. The rapid growth of various business sectors in Abu Dhabi has resulted in an increased influx of foreign workers to the Emirate. The launch of the new centre is a step that reflects the commitment of SEHA to provide complete medical services to keep pace with the growth within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi on par with the best standards globally.
The new DPSC at Mussafah is dedicated to complete the procedures for medical examination of migrant workers as well as provide preventive care to the community. It consists of twenty-four reception stations, eight medical examination rooms, and six rooms for blood testing, as well as six Xray machines and immunization facilities. Screening takes an average of 30 minutes and the test results are delivered within two days.
Announcing this, Dr. John Lopez Evangelista, AHS Director, said "We are delighted with the opening of the new center, which is a step that reflects the extent to which SEHA is committed to investors and companies operating in the Emirate by providing better and faster medical services that meet their needs and help them to accomplish their work as soon as possible, thus enabling them to move forward in their work swiftly."
Mr. Mohammed Hawas Al Sadid, DPSC Manager, said, "Through our Disease Prevention & Screening Centers (DPSCs), we work to build a healthy community free from disease by adhering to the best standards of preventive healthcare. The opening of the new center at Mussafah with a capacity of 1300 tests daily is part of SEHA's plans to ease the high turnout witnessed by the existing centers in Abu Dhabi and the Al Ain & the Western Region. The centre has also been equipped with the latest equipment and modern technologies in this area in terms of accuracy in the analysis and rapid access to results."
