Manama, Bahrain: - Seedstars World, the global seed-stage startup competition for emerging markets and fast-growing startup scenes is coming to Bahrain for the 3rd time. With the support of the local host CH9, Seedstars will be holding a dynamic pitch event on October 25th. It’s Seedstars’ goal to place the spotlight on entrepreneurs from emerging markets, especially targeting solutions that align with UN Sustainable Development Goals. With that in mind, Seedstars World is travelling to more than 65 countries to identify the most innovative seed-stage startups, awarding them the opportunity to win up to USD 1 million and network with investors and mentors from around the world at the global Seedstars Summit in Switzerland. Its previous participants have raised over USD 92M collectively, providing employment to more than 2,100 employees worldwide.

The companies selected to pitch at the Seedstars Manama event need to be less than 2 years old, have raised less than USD 500,000 in funding and built a minimum viable product, ideally with existing traction. The Seedstars team is searching for one additional criterion - the startup’s regional and global scalability. With a strong network of international partners, such as BBVA, Merck or Enel, Seedstars is looking for smart startups that tackle regional issues and develop profitable and sustainable products for the global market, to support their regional businesses and growth.

“Seedstars World is a platform that connects investors and stakeholders with the next generation of entrepreneurs. Since this will be our 3rd time organizing the event at Manama, the stakes are high and we are very excited. We’ve been in this ecosystem for more than three years now and know there are companies in Bahrain developing high-quality products. We are looking for the best and will take it with us to Switzerland in 2019!”, says Meghan Warner, Regional Manager for MENA at Seedstars.

Dr Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi, The Chief Executive of Tamkeen, praised this competition for providing a prominent platform for startups to develop their businesses and expand their knowledge and learn from the success stories and experience of others.

“Tamkeen is pleased to support this event and provide entrepreneurs an opportunity to explore the potential awaiting their startups and discover ways to strengthen their business ideas as well as get valuable insights on their startups from networking with well-experienced partners,” Dr Janahi added.

“This Summit is a fantastic opportunity for everyone from the region to come together in Bahrain and build bridges between the ecosystems,” Mohamed ALTAWASH, Founder & Chairman of CH9 explains, “We look forward to hosting Seedstars MANAMA at CH9 on October 25th, and help entrepreneurs skyrocket their growth”.

Don’t miss the chance to meet mentioned and tens of other most promising startups, investors, business professionals, and mentors from around the world and learn from the superstar speakers on October 25th, 2018!
