Regarding the employment of women in the Arab world a lot of advancements have been made in the recent years, especially when it comes to access to education and the work domain. There are several enterprises that try to encourage women and boost their self-confidence, so that with their innate ability and determination they can assume their position as natural and fully fledged partners of men in society. The labor-force landscape in the Middle East is continuously changing, more and more women are interested in new job possibilities and eager to take up rewarding positions in the region.

Representing a liberally unique standpoint, Palazzo Ballroom and Convention centre located in Jeddah is proud to have 3 Saudi women working in the sales department of the property.  All the ladies are hardworking and enthusiastic to achieve success together and they have a really positive contribution to all of the activities that can drive the property's business growth and deliver revenue growth, and market share. They all enjoy offering people such a luxury place like Palazzo Ballroom and Convention Centre that is perfect for every kind of occasions from small gatherings, business meetings, lectures, receptions, award ceremonies, fund - raising events to truly magnificent weddings.

"What I enjoy the most in my position is to gain experiences every day when dealing with different kinds of people keeping them satisfied and explaining them the range of facilities our property can provide. I love welcoming guests and also drawing in the brides' mind an image of their dream night as we are also able to conceptualize and create an expanded interpretation of their ideas, colours, ambience and overall wedding theme. I love the professionalism of the sales team and the way we all coordinate our activities to achieve success." commented Gihan Al Ahmadi, Sales Executive.

According to the opinion of Areej Kamne, Sales and Banquet Supervisor of Palazzo Ballroom and Convention Center the perception to employ women in managerial positions is not much of a welcoming idea and unfortunately it is engraved in the mentality of people here. She says that men usually tend to say that they should negotiate with a man rather than with a woman. Still a high number of men in this region assume that women are inferior persons and while negotiations they do not treat them as coequal partners.

"I wish that the status of women in terms of employment would become better in all aspects. It may help if the government would implement policies that create employment opportunities especially for women and create institutional mechanisms that promote women's well-being and success in the workforce.  Those woman who are given the opportunity to study in foreign countries could spread the different mentality and education they acquired to bring some liberality to the working places." commented Lamia Gary, Assistant Sales Manager of Palazzo Ballroom and Convention Center.
