Muscat, September 15, 2014: Saraya Bandar Jissah, the company developing Oman`s newest Integrated Tourism Complex (ITC) in Muscat, recently awarded Nagarjuna Construction Company International (NCC), the company contracted for advanced earthworks on the project, for their achievement in the area of Health and Safety. NCC has achieved a milestone One Million Safe Working Man-hours LTI-free (Lost Time Injury) for their operations at the ITC project. The award ceremony took place at the site office.

On the occasion of the ceremony, Sheikh Hamood bin Sultan Al Hosni, the CEO of Saraya Bandar Jissah said, "Just as with any organisation working in construction industry, being able to present such an award is a source of great pride for our firm. The award reflects Saraya Bandar Jissah's commitment towards maintaining the highest standards of health and safety."

Commenting on the LTI achievement for workplace and worker safety, Mr. Kishor Kumar, the General Manager of Nagarjuna Construction Company International said, "We are honoured to be able to play such an important role in this project and are proud of our achievements with regard to health and safety. Mr. Abdul Kareem Al Balushi, Country Manager for CH2MHILL Halcrow Middle East LLC, appointed to oversee the engineering design and supervision of the project, expressed his pleasure on the day of the award ceremony by saying, "It is our joint efforts have earned us this prestigious award. Saraya Bandar Jissah's vision to not only make a world-class haven for tourists and residents, but also incorporate the highest health and safety standards is in accordance with our construction goals. It's our pleasure to be a part of this significant achievement."

The award was achieved through to adherence to best practices in health and safety, and environment through regular induction meetings, site visits and tours, observation, implementation and compliance to the relevant laws.
