Bawazeer Responsible for Strategic Planning and Operational Excellence in Strategically Important Saudi Market
RIYADH, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 3 November, 2009: SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced the appointment of Abdul-Raheem Bawazeer as Managing Director for SAP in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Effective today, Bawazeer will be based out of SAP’s Riyadh office, and will be responsible for overseeing the company’s operations in the strategically important Saudi market, including customer and partner engagements, sales, and services. Bawazeer will be reporting to Claas Kuehnemann, Managing Director, South East Europe & Middle East.
“Bawazeer is an experienced leader and brings sound in-depth knowledge of the Saudi business landscape to his new role. We are confident his expertise, coupled with his market insight and customer focus will enable him to drive growth in the Kingdom,” said Kuehnemann.
“Saudi Arabia is a strategically important hub for SAP’s operations in the region, and I will be focusing on taking forward and developing the great work that has been accomplished in the Kingdom to date,” said Bawazeer.
Bawazeer brings strong proficiency to this new position, having held various senior executive roles in KSA over the past 20 years. Prior to this position, Bawazeer served as General Manager of Saudi Arabia at Dell Middle East for four years, spent six years at Hewlett Packard in a range of leadership roles, including Public Sector Manager and Regional Director of Middle East Government Sector, and worked at Microsoft Arabia for two years as the Manager for the Government Sector and Manger for the Western Region.
Bawazeer holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Bawazeer is fluent in both Arabic and English.
