Bandar Al-Turki: The new showroom and maintenance center cost SR. 20 million

Mustafa Sabra: VW Jetta is a small-midsized car with fabulous exterior design, spacious and luxurious interior and exclusive features

Riyadh: Samaco, the exclusive dealer of Volkswagen in Saudi Arabia, celebrated the opening of its new Volkswagen showroom and maintenance center in Riyadh for providing better services. Samaco is also celebrating the launch of the new Jetta model.

The new VW showroom is located at the intersection of Prince Abdulaziz bin Mosaed bin Jalawi (Aldhabab) street with Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz (Altahlia) street. The maintenance center is located at Khorais road, exit 31.

On this occasion Bandar Al-Turki, General Manager-Central Region at SAMACO in Riyadh, said: "The investment in the two new centers amounted to 20 million SR. The area of the showroom is 775 square meters, and the service center is 2000 square meters."

Work has begun on the second phase at Khorais road, which includes:

1- Renovation of the present showroom (1700 square meters) at Khorais road to be in conformity with the standard specifications of Volkswagen Co. The showroom will contain coffee shop of international standards, accessories and automotive supplies section.

2- Renovation and expansion of the main spare parts warehouse, denting repair center, and bodyshop on a total area of 2500 square meters. The total investment in the second phase amounted to 8 million SR.

He added: "The new showroom brings the number of Volkswagen showrooms in Saudi Arabia to four; one in Jeddah, two in Riyadh and one in the Eastern Province. The number of VW services centers will be five; three centers in Jeddah, one center in Riyadh and one in the Eastern Province. Soon we shall announce the opening of a series of express service centers in Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Province. We currently have 2 spare parts outlets and a third under construction in Riyadh."

Bandar Al-Turki affirmed that the showroom and the maintenance center fall within the new plans that Samaco Company has to continuously upgrade the quality of customer service. This will keep in line with the standards of Volkswagen and commensurate with its new distinctive models in various categories.

On another note, Fathy Abul Fadl Alam, the Regional Sales Manager of Volkswagen Middle East, praised Samaco's efforts, particularly its investments to position Volkswagen in the place they deserve in the Saudi market especially in the light of the huge development of their products within recent years. He also emphasized the importance of Samaco's efforts to support Volkswagen brand in the Saudi market, and its keen efforts to provide better after-sale services in such a very competitive market in order to provide the best to the clients.

He further announced the opening of the Regional Spare Parts Center in the Middle East in Jebel Ali on an area of 10,000 square meters, which will ensure better spare parts provision in the region and particularly in Saudi Arabia.

Mustafa Sabra, General Manager of Volkswagen Saudi Arabia, explained: "VW Jetta, which was unveiled today, is small-midsized car and was launched for the first time twenty years ago,  its name changed to Vento then to Bora, and now returned back with its new generation, to Jetta.

He added that Jetta is a replacement of Bora, which was always considered as the saloon model of its sister Golf and built on its base but with special saloon body and exterior classic character. This car targets small families who prefer saloon cars. Jetta has unique features that are not available in cars in its category.

The external design of Jetta new generation is totally new and different, where VW combined the front of the Golf R32 with the rear of the Passat.

In terms of size, Jetta is larger than Bora; it is built on a wheelbase of 2578 mm long compared to 2513 mm for Bora. Its overall length 4554 mm compared to 4376 mm for Bora, and 1781 mm width compared to 1735 mm for Bora.

 Jetta's interior is spacious and comfortable with a pleasant and luxuriously designed with premium materials. The trunk is larger than Bora's; its capacity is 527 liters compared to 455 liters for Bora.

Jetta is available in two engines:

- 4-cylender engine that produces 102 hp

- 5-cylender engine that produces 150 hp

Both engines are for front-wheel drive and come with 6-speed automatic transmission.
