Muscat - Salalah Rotana Resort exhibited at this year's International Tourism Bourse (ITB) in Berlin, Germany, showcasing its all-encompassing hospitality offering to over 100,000 of the convention's visitors, from international tour operators and service providers to business and leisure travellers. As part of the Ministry of Tourism's 'Sultanate's Pavilion', Salalah Rotana Resort aimed to promote Oman's growing popularity as the Middle East's destination of choice.

"This was an opportunity to strengthen our presence on the international tourism stage by widening our networking range to interact with leading operators across the globe," said Salalah Rotana Resort's General Manager, Claudio Melli. "Salalah's prospects as a year-round destination gained a great deal of interest from key travel companies hoping to endorse the Governorate, especially during the Khareef season."

He added, "At ITB, we showcased our various leisure and business facilities as well as our latest developments that have been designed for the resort to accommodate any and all types of travellers." The largest free-standing hotel in Oman with 400 rooms and suites, Salalah Rotana Resort's hospitality offering encompasses an all-round experience. The resort features four food and beverage venues and is fully-equipped with four meeting rooms, a business centre and grand ballroom, 'Bodylines Fitness and Wellness Club' and 'Zen the spa at Rotana'. In addition, the resort has private beaches, three temperature controlled outdoor swimming pools and a Jacuzzi, as well as tennis courts and a 'Flipper's Kids Club'. The latest addition to Salalah Rotana Resort is the Governorate of Dhofar's very first outdoor amphitheatre, a 250-seat private venue.

"ITB Berlin also provided a platform for worldwide knowledge transfer and we were able to gain further insight into the ever-changing hospitality business and anticipated tourism trends from fellow industry experts. Our aim is to not only continue evolving to meet growing demands but also drive the development of the tourism industry in Oman by setting the tone of hospitality in the country," said Melli.

The leading travel industry think tank, ITB Berlin attracted more than 180,000 visitors this year, including 110,000 trade visitors and 10,000 exhibitors from 180 countries across 5 continents. During the five day event, participants had the opportunity to take part in a wide range of discussions, workshops and lectures covering topics from e-travel to Corporate Social Responsibility.
