Muscat - Sadolin Paints (Oman) Ltd recently conducted a special seminar at the Crowne Plaza Muscat on the importance of incorporating environmentally friendly products and practices in business. The seminar was attended by over 200 invitees, including customers, business partners, industry experts and key decision-makers in the Sultanate.
Unlike most trade seminars, the "Live Green" seminar was conducted by Sadolin's key Omani staff in Arabic, probably the first of its kind by a paint company. The seminar focused on how Sadolin practices the philosophy of 'Live Green" - whether through its policy of promoting only green products, or through the rigorous adherence to health and safety practices in the manufacturing environment and the trade.
Sadolin HSE policies as explained at the seminar clearly cover the entire product cycle and are as follows:
• Health - from raw material stores to consumers' homes, thus pioneering high standards for paint industry as a whole
• Safety - extensive and continuous training to all staff, particularly production to secure them from on the job accidents/injuries
• Environment - stringent targets for reduction in power, water and wastage
The seminar further educated audiences on the fact that all Sadolin water based products - both decorative and wood lacquers - meet the VOC limit of less than 50 grams per litre, as per international LEED specifications.
