Russian Autoclub Racing Team Wins Nivea For Men 24 hours at the Dubai Autodrome

- 24 Hours, 20 teams, 1160 laps and only 1 winner -

Dubai, UAE, November 5, 2006 - The Nivea for Men of Dubai, second race of the 2006/2007 Endurance Championship, was concluded this weekend at the Kartdrome of the Dubai Autodrome and was won by Russian Autoclub Racing Team. Nivea For men professional managed to finish second while Team Y&R Dojomoto rounded the podium.

The event which attracted 20 teams from Russia (2 teams), Italy, France, UK, Pakistan, Seychelles along with local UAE teams commenced on Friday at 10 am at 6:15pm and continued for 24 hours during which spectators enjoyed the most exciting motor sport event in the UAE.

During the qualifying session, Team Nivea For Men Professional showed the upper hand as they grabbed pole position with a time of 1:12.844. Forza Sport Russia was second quickest with 1:13.271 while Russian Autoclub Racing Team was third with 1:13.542.

The start of the race witnessed the top four qualifying teams fighting for the first position as they exchanged the top position, but soon the Russian Team managed to lead and opened a gap which was maintained all the way to the end of the race. The Russian team crossed the finish line first after completing 1160 laps.

"What a fantastic race, 24 hours of tough and challenging competition. This is the 1^st time we race in Dubai and we did not expect to win. We are very glad that we have achieved such a result against a lineup of high-quality teams. I congratulate each member of my team for this great achievement and the Dubai Autodrome for their efforts in delivering such a successful event." said Peter Myachin, captain of the Russian Autoclub Racing Team.

The 2006/2007 NIVEA For Men Endurance Championship started in May with Team Wataniya Upright winning the first race "1,000km of Dubai". The next race which will take place on the 2^nd and 3^rd of February 2007 will decide the championship. The winning team of the 2006/07 Championship will be sponsored to enter the Le Mans 24 hour kart race in 2007.
