8th December 2003, Abu Dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of DNATA Group, and His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Chairman of Royal Jet, today signed a memorandum of understanding at the Dubai Airshow 2003. This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is between DNATA and Royal Jet and appoints Dnata as Royal Jet's General Sales Agent in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
Royal Jet started operations in May 2003 with a 42-seat Boeing Business Jet, the modern, ultra-luxurious version of the Boeing 737-700. In August 2003, Royal Jet became the launch customer of the Gulf G300 aircraft, the latest version of the popular G1V. In August and September 2003, the first two G300s were introduced. Royal Jet has already started to win awards for its luxury operations and has also launched Royal Med, its medical evacuation operation.
Dnata is the largest, most innovative and most successful supplier of air travel services in the Middle East. Whether the customer is a travel or cargo agency, an airline principal or the leisure traveller, emphasis is constantly placed on innovation, quality products and excellence of service. Dnata Agencies sources, supplies, distributes, promotes and supports the best in travel products from around the world, making them easily accessible to the travel trade in the UAE and through selected travel agency partners. To celebrate this agreement, a Royal Jet flight will leave Dubai on the 26th December for London with Dnata customers on board.
With this MOU Dnata will offer luxury charter flight services to all its corporate clients across all their brands such as Business Travel International, Government Travel Services, and key corporate, government and multinational organisations, in addition to meeting the demand for retail leisure travel charters.
Dnata, a GSA of over 30 airline will now also offer supplementary services to all airlines and travel agencies in the UAE and the region.
Customers will be able to call and book the Royal Jet charter service through a dedicated telephone line to be set up at Dnata's 24 hour call centre in Dubai. This call centre is manned by fully trained and multi-lingual staff who operate flexible working hours, geared to meet the requirements of the local market.
There will be a dedicated charter desk at the Dubai Airline Centre where trained staff will offer the Royal Jet services. Dnata will also set up training sessions for corporate secretaries to book charters with ease. This service will be promoted on Dnata's web site - www.dnata.com.
